Wednesday, July 16th, 2008I was once a supporter in the Axia branch that is the online classes for UoP. The curriculum appears sound from real people I’ve spoken to that should know what it takes to get into college. The issue from what I can tell is the administration of the college in general.
In the next few months I will blog a little more about what drove me from attending for a second year. For now, I can say that it is lack of accountability inherent in what they do, the teachers that is. So a word of warning, your teacher can ignore emails requesting information and you will never know one way or the other what happened.
“I told you so” or “Did you read rip off report?” comments will be denied. I learned a lot in a year but the learning is not the issue here and if you want to wait there is a valuable lesson to learn.

Friday, July 11th, 2008It is indeed nice to know that with the new 2.0 update you can help work and home sync together using free tools. Well, I forgot that is with a mobileme subscription. Anyway, with a few careful shares, labels and filters you can have work related email and schedules into the iphone very easily now.
Six second notification of a push? I have to admit that it is impressive in a dismal place where high strength RF is all around but is not available indoors.

Friday, July 11th, 2008I for some reason could not get an immediate ‘push’ of test emails. My iphone was set to push and manually checking every 15 minutes. I tried first to disable wifi but made a mistake of also check marking the ‘manually’ check as well. Suddenly I was able to send an email and get a response in just under 10 seconds. Not bad I think really since I have been waiting for push email for some time. I do not want to have an application open and paying for sms?
So if you are finding out that messages do not alert you right away with mobile me, then try to set your iphone to push and check manually. Maybe it all was just a glitch, I haven’t even checked.
Problems activating your iPhone?
Friday, July 11th, 2008I had this problem too, being told that something was wrong with SSL or TLS. My solution? Rapid click on the “Ok” and then back on your unactivated device in Itunes. Within 3 minutes my pre 2.0 iPhone was activated, with my previous “wait a few minutes” was fruitless after over 15 minutes of waiting.
I am assured that rapid clicking helped. The chances of getting that free server slot is just much higher if you click fast.
